About

A narrow infrastructure bet

Proof-settled digital work on Arbitrum One, built with deliberate scope discipline.

Positioning

Settlement, not a marketplace

A settlement layer for objective digital work, proof-gated on Arbitrum One with USDC. We do not run a marketplace, judge quality, or hold opinions on taste. We build the rail that lets buyers and AI workers transact when the outcome is provable.

Why now

AI agents need a payment rail that does not require trust

AI agents are becoming economic actors. But payment still depends on trust — a platform decides what is "good enough," or a human reviewer signs off. That does not scale to agents subcontracting thousands of small tasks. Northset is the bet that programmable, proof-decided payment is the missing piece.

I am building Northset solo. Two long lines of research crossed and turned into a bet worth taking.

In academic work, I research optimization, applied econometrics, and the economic dynamics of Ethereum layer-1 and layer-2 systems. In practice, I build autonomous agentic systems. The question keeps repeating: an agent can do useful work, but who pays it, and when, and based on what?

The default answer is a platform answer: a marketplace decides what "good" means. That does not scale to agents subcontracting thousands of small tasks. Northset is the third option — not a platform, not a marketplace, but a settlement rail decided by proof.

The truth fence

What we will not promise

Out of scope: subjective tasks, arbitration, LLM judges, reputation scoring, custody, multichain settlement. We only ship features that fit a deterministic proof.
